In Northern states Sawan month starts on July 25th and the first Somwar Vrat is on 26th July.
In Southern states, the month of Sawan starts from August 9th and the first Sawan Somwar Vrat is on August.
Devotees on Shravan Somwar get up early in the morning and go to Lord Shiva temples and offer a wide array of things like Bel,
Bilwa, Patra, Fresh flowers, Fruits, Roli, Rice, Bhang, Prasad, and Nuts.
Shivling is showered with gangajal, milk, and panchamrit.
They keep Vrat and read Sawan Somwar Vrat Katha on this day.
